Superintendent's Message

There are many opportunities this year for students as we have set our goals high as these high expectations will lead to tremendous academic & extra-curricular success. Whether you attend Thrall Elementary, Thrall Middle, or Thrall High you will be on a pathway for success! The campuses have gone through remodeling and most classrooms now have new furniture and state of the art technology for assisting with student engagement. The new addition of Thrall High School campus just opened in 2017 and was in part to the successful Bond 2015 campaign. We continue the College Readiness initiative for students and this year include the Vocational Certification through the Tech-Connect Program. Our students have the opportunity to network with students from other local districts and are able to attend the EWCHEC Center (partnering with TSTC in Hutto) to gain certification in several vocational areas. This is an amazing project providing students with an opportunity immediately to gain employment upon graduation from Thrall High School. Whether a student chooses to be a part of a strong UIL Academic program or to compete in any of the Extra-curricular activities, they will be a part of a competitive school district! This year we received the Expanding Access to Advanced Academics Grant sponsored by TEA and recognized by the College Board. The College Board mentioned how “Thrall ISD is the perfect example of what they were hoping to see in the applications: well-rounded, thoughtful, purposeful, and considerate of all components of a successful AP Program”. Thrall ISD understands the component of working together for student success; even with our neighboring school districts! The Elementary & Middle School Campus have been the UIL District Champions most years over the past decade. Our focus this year at all levels is College & Post-Secondary Readiness. This leads to the display of outstanding leadership, and the desire for tremendous academic success as we prepare our future leaders. We look forward to a successful and productive year. Sincerely-Tommy Hooker, Superintendent of Schools
