Portable Buildings For Sale-Proposals DUE Monday

Thrall ISD is soliciting competitive sealed proposals for the sale and removal of 3 portable buildings. Competitive sealed proposals shall be submitted in an envelope marked on the outside with the offeror’s name and address to: Joan Sladek, Director of Operations, Thrall ISD, 201 S. School Calendar 2017-18 Available

The student District Calendar for next school year, 2017-18, is available here (click on the title of this article) and also under the Parents menu. School begins on Monday, August 28 for all students. This calendar was approved by the Thrall ISD Board of Trustees at its Wednesday, March 22 regular meeting.

Traffic Flow & Parking Changes Begin May 8

Beginning on Monday, May 8, Thrall ISD will close the front parking lots and the front school traffic lanes on Bounds Street to allow for construction progress in these areas. This closure includes the entire front of Thrall ISD from the Elementary on the south end to the Middle-High School on the north end. There will not be access to park in the front areas and fencing will prohibit individuals from walking through the area. Bounds Street itself will remain open. Read more...

Tigerette Golf in Top Ten!

The Tigerettes closed out their season at the UIL State Golf Championship Monday-Tuesday, May 15-16. The Tigerettes played their final round and turned in an 847 as a team. This landed the Tigerettes in 9th place, making them a Top 10 Team in the state. Congratulations to Colby Jaeger who completed her high school career with a 9th place finish! Read more...

Science Team Wins UIL 2A State Championship!

Thrall High school's science team won the 2A State Championship title at the State UIL Academic Competition at UT Austin on Saturday, April 22. Individually, seniors Kenneth Kruse placed 2nd and Aubrey Rinderknecht placed 4th and earned the highest score in the state for Biology. Other team members were juniors Kyge Poling and Riley Richter who helped the team earn a total of 222 points.

Three members of the journalism team also brought home state medals: junior Bradley Graham, 2nd place headline writing; junior Lilly Chandler, 4th place news writing, and senior Aubrey Rinderknecht, 5th place editorial. Read more...

Thrall ISD Moves Forward with District of Innovation Plan

House Bill (HB) 1842, passed during the 84th Legislative Session, permits Texas public school districts to become Districts of Innovation and to obtain exemption from certain provisions of the Texas Education Code. On March 22, 2017, the Thrall Independent School District’s Board of Trustees passed a Resolution to explore the development of a District of Innovation Plan to increase local control over District operations and to support innovation and local initiatives.
